* A4 closure – 28 April – 8 June *

Please note that a section of the A4 eastbound into Newbury at Speen will be closed for works between April and June as above. The Woodspeen is not affected, but depending on your direction of travel, you may need to choose an alternative route.

If travelling from Hungerford on the A4, an alternative route can be found via the B4000, turning right for Boxford and then right on to the Lambourn Road.

If travelling southbound from the M4/A34, you can exit the A34 at Chieveley and take the Oxford Road via Donnington, turning right into Grove Road.

Directions from the M4 Chieveley

The Woodspeen is a short distance from junction 13 of the M4 and easily accessible from Reading, Hungerford, & Oxford. From junction 13, head southbound on the A34 towards Newbury and Winchester. Stay on the A34 southbound until you see a sign for Hungerford and Speen. Leave the A34 here and take the first left at the roundabout, towards Speen and Newbury. Follow the road a short distance and take the first left into Station Road. At the the next junction turn left on to Lambourn Road. Follow as it takes you under the A34 bridge, and The Woodspeen will emerge on your right. 

The Woodspeen is also easily accessible from the A4 between Hungerford and Newbury / Thatcham.
