The Woodspeen — Woodspeen

Our story

It was 2013 when The Woodspeen began its transformation from a run-down country pub into a beautiful, contemporary restaurant and cosy bar. Designed with picture window to take full advantage of the breathtaking views over the West Berkshire countryside and an open kitchen where you can watch the chef’s at work, creating their delightful dishes. It was Autumn 2014, when a group of former colleagues came together with their wealth of hospitality experience, that The Woodspeen was born.

It was not long after opening, we achieved a Michelin star for our food and service, and a Wine Spectator award for our wine list. Within a stone’s throw of the restaurant is our state-of-the-art cookery school , housed in a beautifully converted barn, overlooking our own vegetable garden.

Executive Chef Peter Eaton has a focus on seasonal dishes, using ingredients grown or foraged on our own land. At The Woodspeen, we have a clear vision; to provide exceptional dishes, using the best ingredients the season offers, warm and attentive service, carefully chosen wines and cocktails for your enjoyment.

The Woodspeen is a very special place, designed for casual dining and special occasions alike, this once fading beauty has been restored to its former glory, in its rightful place at the heart of the local community.
